The difference is whether or not there is a chance left over that everyone is protected. The more we manage to involve ourselves, theoretically, the lower that chance can become.
In any case- for now, I'm only speculating about different possible contingencies. We can't make any serious plans with Orca and Gideon in the states they're in now, besides. I'll start asking around for people's thoughts tomorrow, after everyone has gotten a chance to rest.
