Anyone got a plan other than finding a team to partner up with? Or any suggestions for which team that should be?

We shouldn't have to in the first place, especially if someone is going to get punished no matter what we decide! This is stupid, why does she want—

I'm sorry, I know this isn't your fault. I just don't get the point of making us do this. There are probably hundreds of different ways she could have tested our cohesion as a team, or whatever.

I don't have any priorities in the same way some of the others here might have. There are people I know, but they're strong enough to take care of themselves.

Day 14, evening

[ Hi, homies. After the meeting Phoenix called, Tsuruno is perched on the common room couch with her knees drawn up to her chest and her chin resting on top of them, looking rather troubled.

But she does speak up, to attract attention. ]

About the whole... plan to have Cerberus protect us, but we protect Basilisk, are we okay with that? I don't know anyone on that team, but... I mean, I want to believe we can trust them to protect Cerberus... right?

I'm okay with it. Anything that helps more teams is a good idea.

Do you know any of them, Rupert?

... I don't trust easy. I liked what we had with Cerberus, and being told to trust in some block none of us seems to know sounds stupid as hell. Especially when Phoenix is able to protect that block themselves if they wanted to. It's weird that they're insistent on inserting Basilisk into our finished arrangement instead of listening to us saying we have one and deciding to use their vote on Basilisk to tie up the loose end.

Yeah, I don't get it either. Are they thinking there's another group they might have to protect instead?

I guess it's kind of weird, but... Maybe they have plans we don't know about?

I don't know them, either, but even if we can't trust them... wouldn't it be really weird for two teams to team up JUST to trick us into not protecting Cerberus? What would they get from it?

I don't know. I'm better at following my instincts than... all of this. And I think it impacts Nobara and Yuji and their friend more because they have precious people from home in Cerberus... so I just wanted to make sure we all had a chance to talk about it, no matter how new we are.

I don't necessarily think it's a trick. But it leaves us trusting someone else to do a job we could do just as well ourselves.

In the end, we gotta pick someone. If it turns out they tricked us, well, then we'll deal with that when it happens. But personally I think it'd be worse if we didn't take the first step in trusting someone. You'll never make friends that way.
