Tarot memory share [Bugbear]

The room you enter this time is an ostentatious fortune tellers tent. Colourful silks drape the walls with intricate golden constellations embroidered on the ceiling. Various crystals, candles, magic 8 balls, and other superstitious sundries are scattered throughout the tent.

In the centre of the room is a table with ten chairs around it, and three cards laid out for you:

Well, you probably should have just punched them instead of shooting them all, I think. But you had your heart in the right place.

I'd have to punch 'em real hard to kill 'em.

That's what I'm saying, jumping to murder wasn't the answer, even if you had a good reason. And it's got nothing to do with justice or revenge like that friend of yours said. . .it's because assholes like that don't learn shit once they're dead! So there's no point in killing them.

Assholes like that don't usually learn shit while they're alive, either.

Either way, I ain't exactly tryin' to walk 'em through lessons. I don't care what they learn or don't learn. The point is that they pissed me off, and I wanted to kill 'em.

Sounds like they got fixed up in the end, and like I said, you had a good reason. And even if they hadn't, not like I can change the past, it's just a memory.

That counts as a good reason, huh...?

Talk shit get hit, you know? That said, it's not that I don't get where they're coming from either--when people are afraid, they do stupid, cowardly shit. It's not an excuse for them either, but it's important to try and understand others, no matter what.

And then you can beat them up.

'Course I get where they're comin' from.

They saw Aegis's parents stand up and question the system. Pleadin' with the world that there must have been some mistake, that the son they raised would never do the things he'd been condemned for. 'Course it didn't work. The world just decided that anyone doin' that for a mass murderer must be just as bad, and condemned them too. So that asshole wasn't wrong sayin' that if they shielded 'em, the same thing would just happen to them. They were scared, and if they wanted to protect themselves, they had to cast 'em out. Puttin' yourself above other people is a natural thing to do.

But they were actin' like it was the right thing to do. They weren't thinkin' for themselves and ownin' that choice. They were just goin' with the crowd 'cause it was easy, and usin' that to pretend they weren't bein' selfish and cowardly.

That's what I hate the most.

I thought the guy just had kind of a punchable face, and that's what tipped you over, aside from the other stuff.

But yeah! See, that I get. It's not just doing what you want, you got your own ideals too. Makes sense you were pissed off.

Then do you get why it pisses me off when you keep goin' on about me bein' a good guy who does the right thing when it counts?

Yeah! Cuz it's true and you hate that it is. You ain't shown me anything to the contrary yet, man.

No!! It's 'cause I hate pretendin' like doin' what you want is righteous!!

[tilts his head at that]

Hm? I never said it was.

Doing what's "right" when it counts--that depends on the situation, you know? But that doesn't mean what's right was good, or is what everyone else wanted. It's just what your gut tells you, you should be doing. What you believe is the best thing for the moment.

And I believe that you'd do that. Plain and simple.

[Vicious looks... baffled]

'Cause you keep goin' on about my reasons bein' good or whatever! If it's all about what my gut says, it don't matter how good or bad they are, or even if I've got any!

And my gut says that you're good! So if you keep saying I'm wrong, that makes you a hypocrite!

Well, my gut says that your gut can only tell you what you believe! If you keep insistin' I should accept it's right, your gut's the hypocrite!

Oh yeah?! Then my gut says that your gut's got a bad case of gas cuz you're full of hot air!! How's that, eh?

I'm full of way more hot stuff than that!

Hah? Calling yourself hot shit? I was tryin' to be nice to ya!

How's that supposed to be nice??

Don't worry about it! The point is, we're both right, and if that's the case, my gut can be trusted!
