The room you enter this time is an ostentatious fortune tellers tent. Colourful silks drape the walls with intricate golden constellations embroidered on the ceiling. Various crystals, candles, magic 8 balls, and other superstitious sundries are scattered throughout the tent.

In the centre of the room is a table with ten chairs around it, and three cards laid out for you:

Because Loid was! He told us to follow his lead in order to impress the school's admission officers. We were supposed to look like a respectable and traditional family, o-otherwise they wouldn't let Anya attend.

[ Well, it’s still authority. Juzo likewise has plenty of experience with that from the military, but those memories aren’t on the table. There’s some things that are better off buried. ]

Sounds like a lot of hassle for one school. Why go to all the effort?

I-it was Loid's late wife's wish that Anya go to that school. I think Anya's mother wanted her to have the very best chance at a good life. And I don't think she told Loid about any second options...

Yes, it's very important to both of them, sometimes they act as if the fate of the world is at stake if Anya doesn't do well, and it worries me a little how stressed they get...

But if it means making them happy, I'll salute as many statues as it takes!

Your daughter, Anya, is she fond of you?

I-I hope so. Sometimes it's hard for me to tell if I'm doing things correctly, and other times she's very clear that I'm not...

But I think she does because sometimes even when I don't expect it she tells me something that makes me feel better. Um, she's like her father in that way I think.

Kids are sharper than we give 'em credit for, and I think she can tell you genuinely care and wants to reassure you.

She's very sharp! I mean, smart.

That's why I'm hoping the school will be everything they promised for her. And she doesn't get expelled her first year...

Ugh, anyway, I think the whole bunch of us have got issues with authority one way or another, or at the very least no strong feelings about it. I think the memory you gave is as good as any.

Oh no, if we're comparing then yours is by far the best. I hope that isn't mean to Miss Horse to say, her spotlight was very sunny! It's very obvious even to people like me.

I-if you ever don't want to share, you shouldn't have to...even if it means losing. So anything that makes you uncomfortable please don't force yourself to take it on just because you think we need to win! We can find another way!

...erm, I know it's not as if we could guess your memories but other things... L-like if we have to do a task that involves swimming, I can volunteer for that one instead!

Don’t worry about it, Yor. I promise I’m not doin’ something I don’t wanna do. I tell stories about my jobs all the time. Showin’ it isn’t so different.

… I appreciate it about the swimming, though. I sink like a rock, and I don’t wanna rust on top of that.

Stoat and I are going to try fishing later, I'll see if it likes to swim too. That way we'll have two teammates willing to do it!
