Tarot memory share [Phoenix]

The room you enter this time is an ostentatious fortune tellers tent. Colourful silks drape the walls with intricate golden constellations embroidered on the ceiling. Various crystals, candles, magic 8 balls, and other superstitious sundries are scattered throughout the tent.

In the centre of the room is a table with ten chairs around it, and three cards laid out for you:

Let me be straight with you. If there's a situation where I have to save myself or the team? I'm saving myself. I'm not stupid.

The nice thing I'm doing right now is warning you about that in advance. I could just lead you along. But instead I'm being all honest!

And while a part of me finds that honesty refreshing, the rest is undeniably unsettled. No one is asking you to override your sense of self-preservation for Phoenix, though it would be better for us to have some measure of trust between us.

If nothing else, it bolsters our chances of winning subsequent games.

Hey, winning is my second priority. Pretty high on the priorities list!

So then you agree that trust is essential?

You can trust me to have those two priorities.

Well. One must start somewhere. If the next game is a trust-building exercise, then you will be front and center stage, Stoat!

Okay, think this through LOGICALLY. You know I'm bad at it. So why would you put me in charge?! Wanting to win means I want to pick the right person for the job!

Logically, a team is only as strong as its weakest link. Is that what you wish to be, dear Stoat? The weakest link in a game? I doubt that is the case, so your options are thus: work on trust before the critical moment, or flounder through it when the time comes. Perhaps we will not get to choose; maybe you would be chosen on a whim!

It's called min-maxing!!

Then does it not make sense to be as well-rounded as possible? To focus on improving in areas where you are lacking?

That's what teammates are for! That's what sub-personalities are for! But that doesn't mean I have to be that way all the time. I can stick to the bare minimum!

But one that puts forth the effort all these same! [Circling back to the "low effort" problem.] Come now, Stoat, humor us just a little. If we are to spend any amount of time together, we must fashion something close to trust, or friendliness, or mutual feelings of positive cooperation between the team.

I have been cooperating. I've got a few tricks up my sleeve you don't even know about, too. So when the next task is being super nice and embarrassing to everyone? You're gonna feel like a real idiot for doubting me.
