The room you enter this time is an ostentatious fortune tellers tent. Colourful silks drape the walls with intricate golden constellations embroidered on the ceiling. Various crystals, candles, magic 8 balls, and other superstitious sundries are scattered throughout the tent.

In the centre of the room is a table with ten chairs around it, and three cards laid out for you:

Oh no, not that time. Though I have been known to don facial hair when the situation calls for it.

But the instance that I refer to… Well, it required a far more feminine touch. Wig, dress, stockings, the appropriate ladies’ shoes—of most recent fashion, of course—and a corset.

I would not be a great detective if I did not go to great lengths to unravel the truth behind each mystery that crosses my path. Though I must admit, if I were not a detective, there are a few other avenues that I could excel at — perhaps in another life.

A thief? Did you have to steal the evidence back for your client then?

Yes. It would have implicated him in a scandal most... scandalous. He was a king, you see, and about to enter into a new marriage. It was the sort of evidence that one did not want to float about amongst the public, even if it had originated from before that marriage was arranged -- photos and the like. I am certain I do not need to go into further detail; your imagination may suffice.

Um, then was the king also dressed up in a corset? In the pictures?

[ she's landed on the safest option: blackmailers were people who were into women's clothing, hence Sholmes had to dress the part, hence king must also have been a dress aficionado IT ALL MAKES SENSE ]

Were that the case! It would have been quite interesting, indeed. And likely just as scandalous, so good marks for imagination, Mrs Forger.
