[aymeric is currently brooding sitting on the couch with his arms crossed tightly, brow furrowed in deep thought, tail lashing by his ankles. when he hears her speak up, however, it snaps him out of his pensive reverie for a moment]

[aymeric will gather everyone he can and inform them that he has something important to say. once they're all gathered in the common area, he will lean against a wall with his arms crossed, looking deeply pensive and serious, and speak]

There has been a development. Roy Harper, of Bugbear, approached me privately and informed me that Bugbear has unanimously agreed to volunteer themselves as sacrifice in order to forestall a large number of teams having to endure punishment. I attempted to find a counter-argument to their decision, but given our own discussions about a similar scheme, it felt hypocritical... and ultimately, I could not persuade him to re-consider. It seems Bugbear is firm in their decision. They have asked us to keep this a secret, and to not protect them. They have a similar arrangement with Phoenix, who will be claiming to protect Bugbear, but 'tis a ruse.

This leaves us with the option to protect another team, such as Kraken, whom I know had been up for discussion earlier. Moreover, we no longer need to consider team transfers--though we should consider negotiating a deal with Kraken or Phoenix for our own protection, if they have not yet made agreements with any other team.

[sighs deeply]

Much as I dislike the situation, Bugbear's sacrifice will be for naught if we cannot avoid punishment. These are the things we must consider now.

[ Her ears sink as soon as she hears it- no matter the difficult choices she's had to accept as a Warrior of Light, this is not what she'd want. Especially now, especially after everything.

She's just standing there quietly- their choice to sacrifice themselves was supposed to be a last resort. This is... ]

[ She'll accept it, but she's visibly unhappy, even if she's not saying anything. ]

[he glances at her, likewise forlorn, and murmurs softly]

[bites down several sharp comments, growling thunderously and lashing his tail like a weapon. it's not hypocritcal, it shouldn't be secret, it doesn't have to be a whole team— but arguing at Aymeric won't change Bugbear's mind. and ultimately they're not reasons for Moon to disrespect Bugbear's decisions, either.]

Let someone contact Kraken and accept their offer. It will give them security.

Very well. I... passed along the idea of a team transfer to Roy, in the hopes he might convince others on Bugbear to try it. I do not know if he will be successful, but it seemed to be the only thing I could do for him at the time.

[... At that, he just looks sad, wrapping his arms around his legs as he sits on the couch.]

... We should prepare... however can to help them after the punishment. Tokens and things--whatever we can do, since... since we know that they're planning on it...

[It leaves a bad taste in his mouth, though.]

I still have my token from our last win. I do not mind using it for this. Anyone who can heal, or anyone who know aught about medicine could be of assistance, as well. We do not know what sort of ill they will be afflicted with.

If they are going to be kind enough to be a sacrifice, then we must be kind enough to be there for them in the aftermath.

I have my bingo token and an Echidna token. Both tokens will be kept in reserve for Bugbear. If by some stroke of fortune they do not need the use of them for healing, then I will spend the Echidna on a gift for their bravery.
